Getting Our Kicks on Route 66 • 3-Day Weekend Ride
No longer a trip to NW Arkansas. Throw that map away and find your Official Oklahoma map. We are heading to get our kicks on Route 66! We're going to be kicking our heels for three whole days. According to Kathy, we will start just outside of OKC, find the old Route 66 and slowly head our way to the northeast. Plans include lots of stops at any place that anyone would like to stop. Oh boy. Stopping every 5 minutes to see the old buildings, museums, old motels, old gas stations, etc.
Another "sad to say", but we getting to OKC from Lawton on the road that requires MONEY or a PikePass. Sniff. What a way to celebrate Fall Break.
Not sure where the first night will be, but our second night will be in Claremore, OK. The third day will continue all the way up to the NE corner of Oklahoma, then turn around to head back home.
Guess what? Guess what route we will be coming back to Lawton. Grrrrr… the ugly turnpike again! Gag.
