Vacation #4

Hi everyone; We are now on our way home and boy has it been HOT, We were at PIgeon Forge for 3 days, Monday we went out walking and went to the Old Mill and looked around and brought a few things and Doy took me to a dinner & show at the Black Bear Jamboree for my birthday, we had a real good time and while we were there it stromed and we had to wait for it to stop raining before we could leave, and Tuesday we went to the Smokey's and went though part of it and met some Goldwingers from Florida and came back and went for a swim. And Wednesday we started back home, we stopped in Nashville and toured The Grand Old Opry and went to see the Ryman and was able to get pictures and then stoppedHurricane Mills Tenn. and had dinner at Lorretta Lynn's Kitchen and had a good relaxing night and started out early this morning and we are now in Russellville, Tn. We should be home some time Friday. We heard from Grant & Kathy and they were in Tenn also we hope they have had a good trip too. See you all soon, LORD willing. We hope to get in before it starts getting really hot.

Now on with the Picture Show.

We start with Darliene standing outside the Grand Ole Opry:

Roy Acuff's Dressing Room:

Doy was so NOT impressed with the stage.  Doy was actually wishing he could be outside wiping down and cleaning his cycle   He knows if this was Tom and Paula that Tom would be outside cleaning his.  Doesn't he look like a typical Nashville star on stage for the first time?  Look at the fancy clothes he put on for his show.

Here's the Black Bear where we celebrated my birthday:

Inside we see the big show:

Now here's the BAD part.  The show was about the ASS OF '59.  Tsk… Tsk… I cannot believe he took me to this type of show.  I dunno about him sometimes!

Self-explanatory Sign:

Just an average view of the neat tree-covered hills that we don't see much of in Lawton:

We had to eat somewhere, so why not pay a visit to Loretta Lynn:

Made a quick stop at the original Grand Ole Opry (now named The Ryman) in downtown Nashville:

Our Vacation

Howdy!!!We also went to Nashville and then rode the Natchez Trace down to Jackson, Mississippi.  It was extremely hot with a heat index over 100 degrees.  We stopped along the Natchez Trace at some of the more interesting sites.  We particularly liked French Camp.  Then we went to Vicksburg National Military Park and Cemetery as well as the McRaven Home.  We went by some friends' home in Magnolia, AR, today and are visiting with Kathy's parents tonight.  We have had a good time but are ready to get inside with cool air!!!!!   See everyone soon!Kathy and Grant
