September 24th Monthly Chapter Dinner Ride

Giuseppe's Restaraunt in Marlow was selected as the September 2011 Chapter Dinner Ride destination. It's operated from a restored/remodeled 1911 Bank Building and is open only Thursday through Sunday. They have a wide menu selection of the finest Italian dishes in this area, and serve their own private label wine. No! We didn't drink any of it on the dinner ride, but I hear the wine is top-notch! Our resident Italian cuisine expert, Vickie Tompkins, declared it authentic and very well done! I ordered eggplant parmesan, and I recommend it to anyone with a large appetite for Italian food. After the meal, the waitress tempted us with a large tray of desserts, and you won't believe this, but we had to turn it down because we were too full! That only lasted until Elgin where we went to Trivets for coffee and homemade pie! Tom & Paula Clouse, Lee & Vickie Tompkins, and Max & Mary Rowlett met at the McDonalds of Elgin made the ride to Marlow, and we met Doy & Darlene Coapland, and Sam & Angie Wren at Giuseppes. They had driven over in their car and got a head start on the delicious food. It was very enjoyable to visit with our long time friends and Angel Wings. Linnie & LaVoyd Davis e-mailed their regret that they could not attend, but they were enjoying a pleasant ride through Arizona. I believe their destination was the Grand Canyon. I tried to convince Billy & Susie Hope to come along, but this was one of a very few weekends they had off and they were enjoying a ride down historic Route 66.
